It is good to get back to work, so that I can get some rest! What a weekend! Holly had to work all three days, so I lined up a bunch of projects at home. On our Saturday morning walk, Sadie and I saw all kinds of wildlife. There was a big flock of turkeys in the front yard, and three hens near our birdfeeder in the back. We saw a deer in our neighbor's yard, and we also saw 2 rabbits as well as the usual squirrels and small birds. For the projects, I started out with the normal yard work of mowing and gardening. I then excavated and re-did some landscaping so that we had a proper area for our slide out to go when we parked our trailer in our back yard. Then I moved the railroad ties that were being used as landscaping timbers to a pile in the woods and replaced all the timbers with landscaping bricks that have a front that looks like flagstone. I did about 70' of wall next to the area where we keep our trailer. It looks much better than the railroad ties. This project took me most of Saturday and Sunday. Before I started the landscaping project, I had to move the trailer to do the back part of the project, and by Saturday evening at 5PM we had the trailer in place with the stones and landscaping done for the first 40'. Sunday I finished the job, picked up my license plates at the car dealer, did some shopping, washed the Sable inside and out, did some gardening, and prepared a nice gourmet dinner for everyone. Nathan did the final detailing on the Sable, and it looks like a new car again.
Monday, I did some work around the house, changed the oil and filter on the Sable, brought Sadie for a walk at the hospital clinic grounds with Holly, and installed mud flaps on the Dodge. I also made everyone a gourmet dinner, of course. We have nice fresh spinach and lettuce in our garden along with onions, leeks, and garlic. Saturday wiped me out, and I had trouble getting out of bed on Sunday morning, but as the day progressed, I did better and I wasn't as sore at the end of the day. Working out on Thursday and Friday combined with the heavy landscaping work took its toll. Monday was also Sadie's birthday. We gave her a special dinner, and Holly even made and Italian cake. Sadie is the most spoiled dog ever, but she is soo cute.
